MONEY
Of my 28 years of existence one of the things that I still cannot fully understand is the concept of one important paper. MONEY.
They say that MONEY keeps the world go round.
YES.
They say that money buys you happiness.
YES.
They say money keeps you ALIVE.
YES.
But it’s still Paper right?
YES.
This was and still sometimes is my concept of money. Until one day, I was at the groceries buying my usual stuff, FRUITS, COOK BOOK sometimes a magazine, CHIPS and Yakult for my kids. These are my usual stuff. Then I saw a man in front of me. Buying his usual stuff as well. When I say usual it’s most probably the everyday need of a person. His usual stuff includes a sardine, bread, skyflakes and one instant noodle. Then it made me think, do I REALLY need the things that I’m holding?
That made me wonder. And every time I doubt the credibility and importance of money I always go back to that time at the groceries. It’s not the beggars nor the kids who sleep at the streets that make me change my mind because these people somewhat CHOSES to live their life that way. But that MAN at the groceries is a person with a JOB (works at the supermarket as well). He is a person who wants to live a decent life. And MAYBE just maybe is trying to cut on his expense because he wants to give his family a life worth living.
